Ralph Smith on Shakespeare

Shakespeare the Christian I
For the last year or so, we’ve been selling an MP3 CD by Ralph Smith titled Shakespeare the Christian I: The Bible in Shakespeare’s Plays. Designed like a school course, this CD contains lectures, a study guide, and tests, focusing on the Christian nature of Shakespeare’s plays. Peter Leithart, author of Brightest Heaven of Invention, has praised Smith’s work, writing, “Ralph has done his homework, and his analyses are careful, creative, and very insightful. I highly recommend this series.”

This CD is a fantastic resource for teachers, parents, and those interested in learning more about Shakespeare. Moreover, all proceeds are donated to Mitaka Evangelical Church in Tokyo, Japan (where Smith serves as pastor). By buying this course and introducing it to others, you will be contributing to a building fund for a long-needed facility.

But there’s more! For those of you in the Chicago area (or those of you who like to travel), Ralph Smith will be giving a conference titled Shakespeare and the Bible. Sponsored by Christ Covenant Church of Chicago, the conference will be held October 1st and 2nd—going from 7pm to 9pm both nights. “Come and join us,” they write, “in discovering new depths in literature and shedding new light on the most recognized playwright of history in this four-part lecture series.” Registration is free, and this new CREC candidate church would love to see you there.
