What People Are Saying about Heaven Misplaced

Heaven MisplacedHeaven Misplaced has been out for just over a month now, and we’ve had some very good feedback from our readers. You can see a complete list of blog reviews here; I’ve included a sampling below.

From a LibraryThing review:

This book is based on scripture and is definitely recommended for those who want to see God’s grace and love spread over all the earth. Honestly, I enjoyed this book. It took me a while to read it and even longer to write the review, but I’m glad that I read it. This is not one of those books that you read to escape reality, but a book you read that will change your life.

From the InternetMonk:

Discussions in print of postmillennialism are rare enough, but simple and understandable ones are nearly unheard of. The average student of Christianity or eschatology never gives postmillennialism much of a thought and given what one would encounter in a typical evangelical discussion of the future, the lack of attention to postmillennialism is no great loss. Now, however, there is a well-written, interesting exposition of postmillennialism from the pen of Douglas Wilson. Heaven Misplaced is a new release from Canon Press that is essential for anyone wanting to actually understand postmillennialism enough to expound and explain it to the average person.

From Sarah Groves:

Even if you are not convinced by Historic Optimism, you will still find this book encouraging. Wilson evocatively reminds us of what Jesus’ death and resurrection actually accomplished. He really is the Lord of all nations. He really has been given authority over all powers. All we have to do is declare the authority and power that Jesus already has. If you are serving in what looks like a fruitless situation, these reminders are timely and life-giving.

If you have written a review yourself, or know of another, please send me an email and let me know.

Pre-Order Dandelion Fire Today!

A year ago, we lucky readers were introduced to the world of Henry York in Nate Wilson’s 100 Cupboards (the first volume in a trilogy of the same name). We watched as he chipped plaster off his attic bedroom wall, explored new worlds, and found himself the prey of a dangerous witch.

On February 24th the adventure continues with Dandelion Fire. Join Henry, Uncle Frank, and Henrietta as they travel deeper through the cupboards, encounter greater dangers and enemies, and discover new strengths and gifts within. If you enjoyed 100 Cupboards, Dandelion Fire will enthrall you as it adds layers and deep magic to the world that Nate Wilson has crafted.

The first 200 pre-orders from Canon Press will receive a limited edition signed and numbered bookplate with their book. Order now to make sure that you don’t miss out on this offer, because it won’t last long!

Christ in Relationships DVD Set

Many of you are probably familiar with Jim Wilson, father of Doug and grandfather of Nate. Among other things, he is the author of How to be Free from Bitterness, a Canon classic that has blessed thousands of readers with its sound, biblical wisdom. Jim’s teaching is simple, but his messages always convict and encourage. Moreover, his solutions are always practical, pointing to the grace of our loving heavenly Father as the way out of sin and into the light.

We are very pleased to partner with Community Christian Ministries (where Jim has served for over thirty-five years) to bring you this new DVD seminar set, Christ in Relationships. These six talks cover everyday topics like dealing with bitterness, maintaining joy, and loving our enemies. Yet, the wisdom found within should not be taken for granted. As Matt Meyer says in the series introduction (see below), Jim has been serving the Lord for sixty years and has faithfully lived out what he preaches.

You can watch the series introduction below. For more information or to purchase the set, click here.

UPDATE: Community Christian Ministries also has a few of the talks posted on their YouTube channel.
